Alumina spot price in China records second consecutive drop of RMB24/t, while A00 aluminium ingot price grows to RMB14670/t

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the average alumina spot price has declined for the second consecutive day by RMB 24 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,443 per tonne, as of Tuesday, July 28. The price in the east China market has dropped the highest by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 2,425 per tonne, while that in the central and north has dwindled by RMB 25 per tonne to RMB 2,440 per tonne. In the south, however, the alumina spot price has remained restrained at RMB 2,520 per tonne.

The imported alumina price has also declined by RMB 25 per tonne to clock at RMB 2,425 per tonne. The Australian alumina spot price has remained unchanged, on the other hand, at US$ 281 per tonne.

The A00 aluminium ingot price in China, on the other hand, has recorded an increase of RMB 90 per tonne to come in at RMB 14,670 per tonne, despite the fall in alumina spot price, found SMM. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,650 per tonne and RMB 14,690 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 70-110 per tonne, down by RMB 10 per tonne from the previous day.

A00 aluminium ingot price grows to RMB14670/t

Shenyang has seen the highest growth today in A00 aluminium ingot price by RMB 105 per tonne to RMB 14,620 per tonne, followed by Wuxi and Chongqing, where the price has increased by RMB 100 per tonne to stand, respectively, at RMB 14,680 per tonne and RMB 14,550 per tonne. In Hangzhou, the primary aluminium ingot price has inched up by RMB 85 per tonne to RMB 14,680 per tonne, while that in Foshan and Tianjin has grown by RMB 80 per tonne to RMB 14,610 per tonne and RMB 14,650 per tonne, respectively. The price in Gongyi and Linyi has climbed up by RMB 65 per tonne and RMB 60 per tonne to come in at RMB 14,595 per tonne and RMB 14,680 per tonne.

Energy Consumption in Aluminium Smelting

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has recorded an increase as well on July 28 by RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,300 per tonne. The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380), however, have remained muted at RMB 13,950 per tonne and RMB 14,850 per tonne, respectively.
