
The average alumina spot price in China has opened the week on Monday, August 9, with an increase of RMB 11 per tonne to RMB 2,603 per tonne. This marks the second consecutive day of hike, following a rise of RMB 8 per tonne from RMB 2,584 per tonne to RMB 2,592 per tonne.

In Shanxi and Shandong, alumina spot price has grown by RMB 25 per tonne and RMB 20 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,635 per tonne and RMB 2,600 per tonne, respectively.
Australian alumina FOB price has, however, remained restrained at RMB 300 per tonne.
A00 aluminium ingot price, on the other hand, has decreased by RMB 20 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,890 per tonne on Monday, August 9. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 19,870 per tonne and RMB 19,910 per tonne, with spot contract likely to be traded at a premium price of RMB 50-10 per tonne.

Except in Chongqing, Gongyi Foshan, the decline in A00 aluminium ingot price has touched upon all the other major cities in China. In Chongqing, primary aluminium ingot price has grown by RMB 30 per tonne to RMB 19,950 per tonne, while the price in Gongyi and Foshan has remained restrained at RMB 19,910 per tonne and RMB 20,080 per tonne, respectively.
In Tianjin, A00 aluminium ingot price has seen the sharpest decline of RMB 60 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,880 per tonne, followed by the downfall of RMB 40 per tonne in Hangzhou to RMB 19,910 per tonne. In Shenyang and Linyi, primary aluminium ingot price has dwindled by RMB 35 per tonne and RMB 30 per tonne to RMB 19,885 per tonne and RMB 19,930 per tonne, respectively, while the price in Wuxi has dropped by RMB 20 per tonne to come in at RMB 19,900 per tonne, as of August 9.
Aluminium alloys prices have remained restrained. Aluminium alloys (ADC12) price has continued to remain at RMB 19,300 per tonne.
