Alumina prices edge higher in China major markets, other raw materials stay flat

Average alumina prices in four major China markets have gained strength. Alumina price in East China is hovering around RMB 2,660 per tonne, up 1.92 per cent from its previous price. Alumina South China stands at RMB 2,610 per tonne, up 1.56 per cent from its earlier price. Alumina price in Central China has edged higher by 1.92 per cent to stand at RMB 2,650 per tonne, and Alumina North China is up 1.92 per cent at RMB 2,650 per tonne as on June 7.

Aluminium Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) has kept its alumina price unchanged. The average Alumina (Chalco) price stands at RMB 2,650 per tonne as on June 7.

Price of Alumina (Imported) also remains unchanged at RMB 2,800 per tonne (average). The price is reportedly hovering in the range of RMB 2,770-2,830 per tonne.

Coming to other aluminium raw material prices in domestic China market, bauxite shows a flat trend. The highest average bauxite price in Henan (Bauxite 60=Al/Si<7.0) stands at RMB 380 per tonne.

Average Aluminium Fluoride (AF-0&AF-1) price has declined by RMB 200 per tonne (-2.15 per cent) to stand at RMB 9,100 per tonne. Cryolite price (CH-0&CH-1) is also down by RMB 300 per tonne (-4.69 per cent) to stand at RMB 6,100 per tonne as on Wednesday, June 7.

The highest average prebaked anode price (TY-1) in Northwest China market remains unchanged at RMB 3,900 per tonne.
