Alfiniti announces expanded manufacturing capabilities for aluminium Corona Rings

Alfiniti, Inc., a leader in aluminium manufacturing, has expanded its production capabilities to support the fabrication of aluminium corona rings. These capabilities enable Alfiniti to produce components to customer specifications, utilising advanced techniques in bending, flattening, punching, sandblasting, and welding of aluminium tubes and flat bars.

Key Facts:
- Expanded capabilities: Alfiniti can now fabricate aluminium corona rings in-house using bending, flattening, punching, sandblasting, and welding of tube and flat bar.
- Customer focus: All rings are produced in customer-supplied designs, with options for custom geometries, surface treatments, and sizes.
“Our focus is on meeting our customers’ unique design needs,” said Steve James, Managing Director of Alfiniti. “By enhancing our manufacturing processes, we can deliver precision-engineered corona rings that align with their specifications and performance requirements.”
Corona rings are critical components used in high-voltage power transmission systems to manage the electric field gradient and prevent corona discharge, which can impact equipment performance and lifespan. This new manufacturing capability positions Alfiniti to better support customers in the power transmission and energy sectors.
Capabilities and Features:
- Bending and Forming: Precision bending of aluminium tubing and flat bar for tailored ring geometries.
- Punching and Welding: Accurate punching and strong, reliable welding for structural integrity.
- Surface Treatments: Sandblasting and finishing to enhance durability and performance.
- Custom Specifications: Production based entirely on customer designs, including unique dimensions and configurations.
Corona rings fabricated by Alfiniti are used in:
- High-Voltage Power Transmission: Protecting insulators and switchgear in systems operating at or above 230 kV.
- Scientific and Industrial Applications: Ensuring efficient management of electric fields in high-voltage environments.
Customer-Centric Approach
Alfiniti’s expanded capabilities are part of its commitment to supporting customers with innovative aluminium solutions. “We recognise that our customers require high-quality components tailored to their designs,” said Steven Bellemare, Vice President of Sales. “These expanded capabilities allow us to provide precisely what they need, ensuring reliability and performance.”
