Alba receives an award from British Safety Council for its commitment to safe work environment

On Monday, June 5, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) announced that it bagged the 2023 International Safety Award with Merit from the British Safety Council (BSC). The prestigious award is a testament to Alba’s unwavering efforts to maintain a safe and healthy work environment during 2022.

Alba’s Chief Executive Office Ali Al Baqali accepted the award at BSC’s International Safety Awards Gala Dinner on May 19, 2023, in the presence of Alba’s Directory Safety and Health Mohamed Khalil Saeed.

The British Safety Council, founded in 1957, introduced the annual International Safety Award ceremony to recognise worldwide organisations which have demonstrated commitment to ensuring workplace safety and wellbeing.

On receiving the award, Ali Al Baqali said: “We are honoured to have been recognised once again with the British Safety Council’s Merit Award as it underlines the Safety culture we have built in all our work -- from our admin offices to every function and shop-floor in Alba. This award is dedicated to every employee and contractor’s personnel for their commitment to personal safety and operational safety.”

Alba welcomed a delegation from BSC on June 6, 2023, which included Strategic Account Manager (International & UK) Nusrat Khan and Acting Head of Audit and Consultancy Phil Pinnington. They joined Alba’s Management in its Monthly Safety Review Meeting and took part in the discussion of year-to-date performance of Safety, Health, Fire and Security as well as Environment indicators.
