Al-Kaabi bids farewell to former Qatalum CEO Khalid Laram

Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and president and CEO of QatarEnergy, hosted a farewell reception for Khalid Mohammed Laram, former CEO of Qatar Aluminium (Qatalum).

Al-Kaabi said, “For over 10 years, Mr Khalid Laram was the steady hand that ensured the continued success of Qatar’s renowned world-class aluminium smelter. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for his remarkable accomplishments and valuable contributions both at Qatalum and QatarEnergy and its group companies.”

Laram began his career with QatarEnergy in 1985. He was involved in the early development of the North Field Dome in 1987 and worked on Qatar Gas’ first LNG trains in 1991. He also served as project manager for the NGL-4 project.

He later held senior roles, including deputy general manager at Al-Khaleej Gas (AKG). In 2013, he joined Qatalum as deputy general manager and was appointed CEO in 2015.
