Google, the world’s leader in the search engine, plans to transform the search on its platform. The new avatar of the search engine will be more “visual, snackable, personal and human”. As mentioned in a recent report by The Wall Street Journal, the technology /giant will transform how the search engine presents the data to the audience with more AI-based conversations, trim video clips and social media posts, etc. This is expected to give a better experience to the person searching for information and will make the search activities more interactive, relevant and exciting. To search, users may have multiple steps to take, but this mechanism will reduce that.
This move is very relevant when ChatGPT is already transforming how people search for information. Many of those conversational features are also getting added to the search engines like Bing, a product from Microsoft. It is interesting as Microsoft is a major shareholder in OpenAI, the parent company whose product is ChatGPT.
According to the article from The Wall Street Journal, Google has already started integrating some online forum posts and short video results into the search results, but that will be enhanced more in the near future with two specific objectives in mind – first, to make the results more comprehensive and secondly, to make the results more appealing to the young population who are presently spending more time with ChatGPT and some of them increasingly started using it as a search engine as well.
ChatGPT, since its launch in 2022, has gathered a lot of traction from various industries. Its capability to answer strategic as well as operational questions seamlessly and assimilate large volumes of data has given it traction across metal industries, including Aluminium. Globally, many companies across primary, as well as downstream, and end-user segments are using ChatGPT as a data analysis and strategic tool for business planning and execution. Google’s annual I/O developer conference will start in a few days. The company is expected to debut these new AI-enabled features in that forum. It will also allow the users to experience conversations with the AI-/enabled programme, a project with the code name “Magi”.
