
According to the latest data revealed by the Indian Aluminium Institute (IAI), primary aluminium production in Africa stood at 131,000 tonnes in November 2021, down by 6,000 tonnes or 4.38 per cent from 137,000 tonnes in October. But the output in October saw a month-on-month rise of 5,000 tonnes or 3.79 per cent from 132,000 tonnes.

On a year-on-year calculation, primary aluminium production in Africa during November 2021 stood up by 2,000 tonnes or 1.55 per cent from 129,000 tonnes.
In the past three months, Africa churned out 400,000 tonnes of primary aluminium, only 1,000 tonnes less than 401,000 tonnes during June-August 2021. From January to November, primary aluminium output in Africa totalled 1.452 million tonnes, which reflected a downfall of 1.22 per cent from 1.470 million tonnes.
The world primary aluminium production in November 2021 came in at 5.497 million tonnes, 3.37 per cent less month-on-month than 5.689 million tonnes and essentially unchanged than 5.508 million tonnes in November 2020.

The daily average output of the metal in November 2021 stood at 183,200 tonnes compared to 183,500 tonnes a month ago and 183,600 tonnes a year earlier.
