Chromebooks have been a gadget lover's favourite ever since they were introduced in 2011. The Linux-based Chrome OS supported laptops impressed users with their speed, battery life, display, app support and other functionalities ideally suited for everyday work. However, of all Chromebooks launched recently, including the higher-end ones of the same device category, Acer's Chromebook 14 succeeded finding that special place in the bloggers' column. The laptop is reasonably priced yet looks no lesser than a MacBook, courtesy its suave aluminium build.
Acer's aluminium Chromebook 14 is light-weight; hence, easy to carry, and looks class apart from the ones donning a 'plastic-y' look of the same price band. The build is strong, scratch-free and the hinge is sturdy enough to withstand frequent opening and closing.

The aluminium Chromebook from Acer has 1.6GHz Intel processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. So, speed-wise it fares reasonably well without slowing down at the touch of a tab. The Chromebook has been on Google’s list of Chrome OS devices set to get Android apps sometime by the end of the year. As of now, it has apps in the developer channel.

Acer aluminium Chromebook 14 has a Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display that works fairly well in this 14-inch form-factor and it has decent colour accuracy and vibrancy. There is also one HDMI out which one normally gets to see in premium offerings from brands like Apple. So, given its price range, the Android and Chrome OS laptop is certainly one of the best value devices that gadget lovers can lay their hands on without having to worry much about functionality.
