
According to the Shanghai Metals Market, A00 aluminium ingot price has recorded a plunge of RMB 70 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,470 per tonne, as of Friday, September 4, following a build-up of 6,000 tonnes in primary aluminium inventories on Thursday, September 3. The average aluminium ingot prices today are expected to range between RMB 14,450 per tonne and RMB 14,490 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 40-80 per tonne, up by RMB 40 per tonne from the previous day.

Tianjin has seen the highest decline in A00 aluminium ingot price of RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 14,480 per tonne, followed by a decrease of RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 14,530 per tonne in Foshan. In Wuxi and Hangzhou, A00 aluminium ingot price has plummeted by RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 14,500 per tonne and RMB 14,520 per tonne, respectively, while that in Chongqing and Shen Yang has slipped by RMB 45 per tonne and RMB 30 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,505 per tonne and RMB 14,535 per tonne. In Linyi, the primary aluminium ingot price has dipped by RMB 20 per tonne to RMB 14,560 per tonne. In Gongyi, however, the price has inched up by RMB 5 per tonne to come in at RMB 14,410 per tonne.
Backed on the decline in A00 aluminium ingot price, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has decreased by RMB 50 per tonne to hover at RMB 15,100 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 15,050 per tonne and RMB 15,150 per tonne.
As far as aluminium input costs are concerned, none has recorded any changes. While the bauxite price has continued to remain at RMB 540 per tonne, the prices of alumina and prebaked anode have remained muted at RMB 2,360 per tonne and RMB 3,010 per tonne, respectively.
