A00 aluminium ingot price grows to RMB14750/t; Input costs remain muted except a plunge in Australian alumina FOB price

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the A00 aluminium ingot price has recorded a rise of RMB 50 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,750 per tonne on Tuesday, August 25, following a downfall on the previous day from RMB 14,840 per tonne to RMB 14,700 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,730 per tonne and RMB 14,770 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at the same premium price of RMB 30-70 per tonne.

Foshan has seen the highest growth in A00 aluminium ingot price today of RMB 80 per tonne to come in at RMB 14,770 per tonne, followed by an increase of RMB 70 per tonne in Linyi to stand at RMB 14,790 per tonne. The price in Chongqing and Shenyang has grown by RMB 65 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne to hover at RMB 14,665 per tonne and RMB 14,740 per tonne, respectively, while that in Gongyi and Hangzhou has surged by RMB 45 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,630 per tonne and RMB 14,740 per tonne. In Wuxi and Tianjin, the primary aluminium ingot price has inched up by 25 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to 14,735 per tonne and RMB 14,720 per tonne, respectively.

Backed on the hike in A00 aluminium ingot price, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has also climbed up by RMB 50 per tonne to peg at RMB 15,350 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 15,300 per tonne and RMB 15,400 per tonne. However, the prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have remained restrained at RMB 14,000 per tonne and RMB 14,900 per tonne, respectively.

Among the primary aluminium input costs, the Australia alumina FOB price has inched down by US$ 4 per tonne to come in at US$ 284 per tonne, as of August 25, found SMM. But neither the imported alumina price nor the average alumina Chinese spot price has shown changes today from RMB 2,300 per tonne and RMB 2,347 per tonne.
