
According to Shanghai Metals Market, the A00 aluminium ingot price has recorded a steep decline of RMB 130 per tonne to stand at RMB 12,840 per tonne on Friday, May 8. This marks the second consecutive decline following incessant rise, with an intermittent restraint, ranging between RMB 12,510 per tonne and RMB 12,980 per tonne. Today, the average prices are expected to range between RMB 12,820 per tonne and RMB 12,860 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 90-130 per tonne.

Foshan has seen the highest decline of RMB 230 per tonne to RMB 12,890 per tonne, followed by Wuxi, Chongqing, and Tianjin, where the price has plunged by RMB 150 per tonne to RMB 12,830 per tonne, RMB 12,890 per tonne, and RMB 12,880 per tonne, respectively. In Hangzhou and Gongyi, the aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 145 per tonne to RMB 12,855 per tonne and RMB 13,005 per tonne, while that in Shenyang and Linyi by RMB 130 per tonne and RMB 100 per tonne to stand respectively at RMB 12,845 per tonne and RMB 13,030 per tonne.
Backed on the decline in A00 aluminium ingot price, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has registered a fall of RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 13,650 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 13,600 per tonne and RMB 13,700 per tonne.

The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380), however, have remained restrained at RMB 13,950 per tonne and RMB 14,850 per tonne, respectively.
As far as the input costs are concerned, neither the price of alumina nor bauxite or prebaked anode has recorded any changes. While the average alumina price is restrained at RMB 2,209 per tonne, the prices of bauxite and prebaked anode are continuing at RMB 540 per tonne and RMB 2,700 per tonne, respectively.
