The AC Cobra is a well-known sports car that originated in the 1960s and combined British design with American V8 power. The new AC Cobra GT Roadster aims to keep the tradition alive with a modern yet retro-looking design. Despite its larger size, the new model maintains its lightweight construction thanks to a carbon composite body and an extruded aluminium spaceframe chassis. As it is known, aluminium is lighter than conventional metals used as raw materials in the automobile industry. Its lightweight aluminium construction results in a kerb weight of just 1,450kg, which makes it easier for the 5.0-litre V8 engine to run the vehicle. Buyers can choose between a normally aspirated engine with 338kW and 570Nm or a supercharged variant with 488kW and 780Nm, capable of sprinting from...

Consumer Convenience Technologies (CCT), the creators of the world's first aluminium lug jar lid (EEASY Lid), stated that Edeka Kempken will be introducing the eco-friendly jar lid to European consumers in selected Krefeld shops on May 25. The proprietary EEASY Lid from CCT is intended to assist companies in providing unparalleled access to their jarred food items. The aluminium lug jar lid enables customers to vent a vacuum-sealed jar by pushing a button on the lid, decreasing the torque required to screw off the lid by up to 50%. The new tomato-basil flavour of Edeka Kempken's in-house private-label pasta sauce brand will be available with the EEASY Lid lug by the end of the month. Guglielmo's Sauce became the first food business in the United States to use the EEASY Lid lug on their...

RWTH Aachen and a start-up e.Volution have developed a circular economy electric vehicle that is estimated to have a longevity of 50 years due to its modular upgrades. This is their second model, and e.Volution was founded by Professor Günther Schuh, who also created StreetScooter and e.GO. The "next generation vehicle production concept" involves a new modularity approach to cars by replacing the self-supporting body with a sturdy aluminium chassis and replaceable shorter-life exterior and interior components. This is made possible by the electric drive, which e.Volution claims can last 4-5 times longer than an internal combustion engine. Professor Günther noted how the use of sustainable concepts in car making "can make e-vehicles significantly cheaper and more sustainable to...

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China's aluminium production in April 2023 (30 calendar days) fell 1.2 per cent month-on-month at 3.33 million tonnes. In March 2023 (31 calendar days), the output was 3.37 million tonnes, which brought the Q1 production to 9.8 million tonnes. In the first four months of 2023, China produced 13.3 million tonnes of aluminium compared to 13.01 million tonnes during the same period last year. That reflected a year-on-year increase of 2.23 per cent. China's monthly production fall in April '23 could be attributed to the ongoing production cut issues in Yunnan province, China's fourth biggest aluminium-producing province, accounting for 12 per cent of China's total capacity. As per the reports, lower production in Yunnan is not yet being...

Alcoa and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) have signed one of the largest alumina supply contracts, which can help in strengthening the long-term supply relationship between the two companies. Under the new multi-year deal, Alcoa will be providing EGA with smelting quality alumina, making the former EGA's biggest third-party alumina supplier. Volume options will enable EGA to purchase up to 15.6 million tonnes of alumina from Western Australia for the eight-year arrangement, which begins in 2024. The supply deal will account for a substantial share of Alcoa's annual third-party alumina sales. In 2022, EGA's Al Taweelah alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi met 47 per cent of EGA's total alumina demand. "Most of our alumina needs into the next decade are now secured by our own production and a...

With a golden triangle structure design, the Z2 is stable and does not shake during daily use. The bracket is made of a 4mm thick aluminium alloy plate, has a portable handle design, and has a silicone...

According to our source, China's Shandong Nanshan wants to expand its new Indonesian alumina refinery site to a USD$6 billion aluminium smelting complex by 2028, making it one of the most significant foreign investments in the country. Shandong Nanshan is incorporated among many private Chinese organizations making multibillion-dollar investments in Southeast Asia in fields such as metal processing and oil refining, despite a slowing Chinese economy and more regulatory scrutiny at home. In the Galang Batang special economic zone (SEZ), located on the island of Bintan, the company began operating its 2 million tonnes of alumina refinery annually in November 2022. Currently operating at full capacity, Nanshan sources bauxite for its alumina refinery from Indonesia's Kalimantan province and...

Lehni recently showcased its timeless Aluminium Shelf at Milan Design Week, a staple of the company's expertise since the 1960s. Despite starting as a plumbing workshop in 1922, Lehni has always been closely connected to architecture and art. Partnerships with eminent personals like Max Bill in the 1930s and esteemed artists such as Sol LeWitt and Donald Judd strongly complemented Lehni's appearance in the artistic regime. In 1956, Rudolf Lehni Jr. expanded the company's scope, digressing into industrial design, which led to the development of the company's first Aluminium Shelf, designed by Swiss designer Andreas Christen in 1964. Today, Lehni continues to create minimalist, enduring, and sustainable designs using the advantageous characteristics of aluminium, such as reusability,...
