The STEINERT ISS® induction sorting system is an ideal complement to magnetic sorting and eddy-current separation, designed to recover residual metals from mixed materials. Particularly effective for stainless steels and composite materials like cables or circuit boards, it can be used to produce metal concentrates such as zurik or stainless steel fractions. Alternatively, it can focus on creating a metal-free residual fraction, with less than 1% metal, meeting specific quality requirements, such as for recovered fuels.
The system features an acceleration belt that transports the sortable material through the detection area. Beneath the conveyor belt, an advanced inductive metal sensor generates an electromagnetic field. It detects conductive objects with a sensitivity of less than 1 mm. After detection, the metal items are precisely deflected from the material flow using a targeted burst of compressed air.
For different application needs, we offer sensors with either coarse or fine resolution, depending on the coil diameter. Additionally, they provide two sensor options to suit various sorting needs. The all-metal separator is a cost-effective solution for simple applications, such as producing a metal-free residue. For more complex sorting tasks, they offer the ARGOS metal detector with a combination sorting system controller. This advanced digital sensor combines conductivity detection and image processing, providing more accurate sorting data. It offers enhanced sorting capabilities, such as distinguishing between stainless steels, cables, and circuit boards.
