On Wednesday, April 10, China’s A00 aluminium ingot price has gained RMB 120 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,180 per tonne, with the spot contract price expected to be traded at a discount price of RMB 90 to RMB 50 per tonne. As per the SMM data, the domestic aluminium ingot prices have been on a growth trajectory since March 27. The SMM aluminium ingot price has skyrocketed by RMB 1,560 per tonne or 8.37 per cent Y-o-Y from RMB 18,620 per tonne recorded on April 10, 2023.
As of today, the prices have shown growth in all the provinces, with the highest in Wuxi, where it has hiked by RMB 140 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,200 per tonne, followed by an increase of RMB 130 per tonne in Gongyi to arrive at RMB 20,100 per tonne. In Foshan and Hangzhou, the aluminium ingot prices have ascended by RMB 120 per tonne to clock at RMB 20,220 per tonne and RMB 20,180 per tonne.
In Chongqing and Linyi, the SMM aluminium ingot prices have gained RMB 100 per tonne and RMB 90 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,130 per tonne and RMB 20,100 per tonne. In Tianjin and Linyi, the prices have moved up by RMB 70 per tonne to peg at RMB 20,130 per tonne. The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has added RMB 128 per tonne to rest at RMB 21,139 per tonne.
On the same day, the high purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high purity aluminium (99.996%) price have expanded by RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 27,600 per tonne and RMB 28,600 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price moved up by US$1 per tonne to halt at US$374 per tonne.
The aluminium alloy (A356) price has ascended by RMB 150 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,100 per tonne, with average prices between RMB 21,000 per tonne and RMB 21,200 per tonne. On the other hand, for aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380), the prices have shown no change to settle at RMB 20,600 per tonne and RMB 21,600 per tonne.
