Notes:
There may be a difference when calculating the price with respect to
import volume, carbon price, and benchmark emissions, as the embedded
formula may result in minor variations due to decimal rounding.
Therefore, the actual value may vary.
CBAM is applicable to trade volumes starting from 50 metric tonnes. For trade volumes below 50 metric tonnes, CBAM does not apply.
Usage Procedure – How to use the CBAM Calculator Sheet
Enter or update values only in the
INPUT PARAMETERS section (Highlighted in blue) ,
including the carbon price, benchmark emissions, CBAM chargeable
percentage (as per the phase-in year), and imported quantity.
The system will automatically calculate the
payable emissions and the total CBAM cost (€)
based on the inputs provided.
Notes:
• Change any input value to automatically update CBAM cost.
• Formula used: Carbon price × payable emissions × quantity.
• Model aligned with CBAM supplier-side illustrative methodology.

JW Aluminum Finds Scrap Supplier for South Carolina Plant
2MINS READ
The David J. Joseph Co.’s Metals Group and JW Aluminum have announced that as of Jan. 21, 2013, JW Aluminum will use DJJ as the primary scrap buying agent for its Mt. Holly, S.C., aluminum manufacturing facility. JW Aluminum will continue to source scrap directly from the marketplace for its other three manufacturing facilities.
“We are excited to announce the agency agreement with JW Aluminum, who has been a business partner for over three decades” Terry Rath, vice president of DJJ’s Metals Group, says. “This agency agreement brings a variety of benefits to JW Aluminum. In addition to DJJ’s financial strength and global sourcing of quality raw materials, JW Aluminum is assured quality supply at competitive costs, with administrative efficiencies and logistics expertise.”
Karl Hebert, JW Aluminum’s director of procurement, says that while DJJ will be supplying the facility with a significant amount of aluminum scrap, it will not be the exclusive supplier of the material. “We take in all forms of aluminum scrap, from high purity scrap to really challenging aluminum,” Hebert says.
According to DJJ, the agency relationship presents marketing, administrative and support service benefits to JW Aluminum’s scrap suppliers.
The scrap agency agreement demonstrates a step toward DJJ strengthening its relationships with scrap consumers and suppliers through customer service excellence and value added services, and JW Aluminum’s commitment to producing and developing the highest quality aluminum products for its customers—always meeting their exact needs and specifications.
JW Aluminum, founded in 1979, manufactures specialty flat-rolled aluminum products used by the heating and cooling industry, light gauge converter foil for the flexible packaging industry, honeycomb foil for the aerospace industry, bare and painted sheet products for window coverings and the building and construction markets, and other foil and sheet products. JW Aluminum’s facilities are located in Mt. Holly, SC; St. Louis; Russellville, Ark.; and Williamsport, Pa.
