In his speech during the round table, "Industrial cooperation between Russia and China: present and future", RUSAL’s CEO Evgenii Nikitin emphasised the close interaction and joint development between Russia and China in the aluminium industry. RUSAL is committed to providing high-quality aluminium products to the global market through technological innovation and low-carbon production. The company is also actively promoting cooperation between China and Russia in the fields of new energy, construction and automobile manufacturing.

China is RUSAL's major partner and a very important market. As the largest aluminium producer outside China and the global leader in low-carbon aluminium production, RUSAL has always been a reliable supplier that strives to develop China's aluminium industry. RUSAL's leading role lies in promoting new technologies that contribute to the industry's sustainable development, carbon footprint reduction, and environmental protection.

China’s decarbonisation efforts have increased demand for aluminium, a key material in manufacturing products known for its lightweight, infinitely recyclable, and corrosion-resistant properties. This is evidenced by the increase in RUSAL's aluminium shipments to China: in 2023, the volume grew by more than 2.5 times, reaching USD 2.855 million. For comparison, in 2022, a similar indicator was at USD 1.122 million. Accordingly, the import of aluminium in China is expected to grow in upcoming years as its production is reaching its capacity limit, and there is a need to fulfil the healthy demand for aluminium.

RUSAL's appearance at the 8th China-Russia Expo demonstrated its leading position in the aluminium industry and strengthened in-depth cooperation between China and Russia. Moving forward, RUSAL plans to collaborate further with Chinese enterprises to contribute to both countries' economic growth and the advancement of the aluminium industry.
