September 16, 2025 – Every Can Counts US, the lead program dedicated to catalysing away-from-home recycling of aluminium beverage cans, announced a major success from its spring and summer festival season. More than 75,000 aluminium beverage cans were collected and recycled across four major festivals and events this spring and summer. Festivalgoers at some of the largest and most vibrant gatherings proved that every can counts toward recycling:
“Festivals, concerts, and sporting events bring people together to celebrate, connect, and create unforgettable moments. They are also places where we can create positive environmental action,” said Tim Ebner, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Can Manufacturers Institute and a lead organizer of the Every Can Counts U.S. chapter. “Thanks to the efforts of our sponsors, volunteers, and festivalgoers, more than 75,000 recycled cans are now on their way back to becoming new cans, as quick as 60 days or less.”
Aluminium is infinitely recyclable, meaning every recycled used beverage can provides aluminium to keep circulating in the beverage can’s domestic circular economy, saving energy and reducing waste along the way.
In fact, 75,000 recycled cans equals more than USD 1,200 in scrap aluminium value and energy savings equivalent to powering approximately 900,000 smartphones.
Every Can Counts is committed to making recycling easy, accessible, and visible at major events and venues across America. This includes a partnership going-on three years with Recycle Dat! at Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
