Dong Jianxiong, the Vice General Manager of Chinalco Group and Chairman of Chinalco Shares, and Luciano Alves, CEO of Companhia Brasileira de Aluminio (CBA), visited Baotou Aluminum on May 8. During the visit, Alves and his delegation toured several key production sites, including the intelligent production and centralised control centre, Huayun Electrolytic Plant 1, and Huayun Electrolytic Thermal Power Plant 2.
About the visit
Zhu Runzhou, the General Manager of Chinalco and Deputy Party Secretary, was also present during the visit. They also examined the unattended intelligent laboratory system for incoming coal. The visit facilitated in-depth discussions on various topics, such as electrolytic production, digital intelligent control, green, low-carbon energy-saving technologies, and automated unmanned technologies.
Alves expressed his admiration for Chalco Group's remarkable accomplishments in operational excellence, scientific research and innovation, green and low-carbon initiatives, and digital transformation efforts in recent years. He was particularly impressed by Baotou Aluminum's first-rate production facilities, stellar process management, advanced technical equipment, and outstanding product quality.
He emphasised CBA eagerness to bolster collaboration and dialogue between the two entities, leveraging their respective strengths. Alves proposed a proactive approach to exploring and broadening strategic cooperation, aiming for mutual benefits and fostering win-win outcomes through practical collaboration.

It has established a diversified development model encompassing non-ferrous metals like aluminium and copper, engineering technology, and asset management. Dong Jianxiong, with a sense of optimism, underscored the mutually beneficial nature of their cooperation, emphasising its significant potential. He expressed hope for further strengthening exchanges between China and Pakistan, leveraging their respective strengths in resources, technology, and management.
