China's A00 Aluminium ingot market remains fairly up M-O-M by RMB 460/t, with a decrease of RMB 90/t today

On September 6, 2024, the A00 aluminium ingot price in China, as reported by the Shanghai Metal Market (SMM), ended the week with a dwindle in price by RMB 90 per tonne, following a slight decrease the day before. The price settled at RMB 19,210 per tonne, increasing the month-on-month price by RMB 460 per tonne from RMB 18,750 per tonne.

The average price of A00 aluminium ingot is hovering between RMB 19,190 per tonne to RMB 19,230 per tonne, while the spot contract is likely to be traded at a discount price of RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 0 per tonne with an average of RMB 20 per tonne.

Additionally, the price of low-carbon aluminium has settled at RMB 20,082 per tonne, degraded by 86 per tonne. High-purity aluminium (99.99%) and (99.996%) have also slipped by RMB 100 per tonne to peg at RMB 26,300 per tonne for 99.99% purity and RMB 27,300 per tonne for 99.996% purity.

Region-wise analysis:

Aluminium ingot prices have curtailed across all provinces in China, with the highest fall in Linyi and Tianjin provinces by RMB 110 per tonne and RMB 100 per tonne, respectively; this brings the price to RMB 19,240 per tonne in Linyi and RMB 19,260 per tonne in Tianjin. The average prices are lower by RMB 90 per tonne in Wuxi, Hangzhou, Chongqing and Shenyang provinces to officiate at RMB 19,210 per tonne for both Wuxi, Chongqing and Shenyang provinces and RMB 19,220 per tonne for Hangzhou province. In Gongyi and Foshan provinces, the average prices are standing at RMB 19,250 per tonne and RMB 19,120 per tonne, depleted by RMB 60 per tonne and RMB 80 per tonne, respectively.

Other prices:

The prices of raw materials like imported bauxite surged by US$ 0.49 per tonne to reach US$ 76.61 per tonne. However, the domestic bauxite price remains the same for the previous month across China, despite fluctuations in global markets. Also, the Australian bauxite price has escalated by US$ 1.5 per tonne to officially close at US$ 65 per tonne. The average alumina price saw no change from RMB 3,938 per tonne the previous day.

Aluminium alloy ingot:

The price of aluminium alloys ingot (ADC12) and alloy ingot (A380) have also remained same with no changes in price. Aluminium alloy (A356) and alloy (A360) prices have shrunk by RMB 100 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,650 per tonne and RMB 19,900 per tonne respectively, expected to range between RMB 19,500 per tonne to RMB 19,800 per tonne and RMB 19,800 per tonne to RMB 20,000 per tonne.
