Leicester-based manufacturer of UPVC and aluminium windows and doors, Unique Window Systems, has acquired AluFold Direct, the aluminium window and door manufacturer in Blackburn. Unique Window Systems already manufactures both UPVC and aluminium windows and doors from its 165,000 sq ft factory in Leicester but will expand its aluminium offering with the acquisition. The deal was advised on by Gunner Cooke, Freeths and Torr Waterfield.
Joint managing director of Unique Window Systems, Sunil Patel, said: “We have already celebrated 20 years in business this year and have recently managed to increase our turnover to £45 million. But we know other companies are not faring so well. That is why we are particularly pleased to be able to acquire the business and assets of AluFold Direct in Blackburn, meaning we can invest further and deliver energy efficient aluminium windows and doors to a wider area.
“AluFold is well-known for its high standard of aluminium windows and doors and the firm’s Blackburn factory is an impressive space.”
He added: “We know that homeowner expectations are quite rightly rising when it comes to the energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics of their windows and doors, and although we don’t sell directly to the public, we want to do everything we can to support our customers by making the best products for today’s market but also products that will still be fit for purpose well into in the future.”
“We are excited about this next stage of growth for Unique Window Systems,” said Patel, “and are committed to continuing a programme of investment that allows us to keep making the energy efficient and secure windows and doors people need.”
