Employees drove literacy, skilling, health, and environmental initiatives, empowering communities and fostering inclusive growth. New Delhi, 5th December 2025: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, marked International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development by announcing its largest employee-led community outreach initiative. 1,800 employees dedicated 4,000 hours, equivalent to nearly 167 days of service, positively impacting more than 7 lakh lives across its operational facilities in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh.

The movement reflects Vedanta’s philosophy of ‘Transforming Communities’, which is deeply embedded in Vedanta Aluminium’s culture. By fostering a spirit of volunteerism, the company is driving a behavioural shift where employees actively participate, creating a multiplier effect on social impact. Employees stepped beyond their workspaces to lead transformative initiatives across healthcare, education, livelihoods, environment, and women’s empowerment. From plantation drives and pond restoration to literacy sessions, skilling workshops, health camps, and blood donation drives, volunteers championed activities to create lasting social impact.

Commenting on this noteworthy achievement, Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, said, “At Vedanta Aluminium, we believe our responsibility extends far beyond our operations. The scale of volunteer participation we’ve seen this year reflects the deep sense of purpose our employees and business partners carry with them. Contributing nearly 4,000 hours of community service is not just a measure of engagement, but a testament to our collective commitment to holistic development.”

The company’s efforts have translated into national-level milestones. In Odisha, grassroots sports initiative in Lanjigarh have nurtured young archers who now compete at national championships, while traditional Saura and Dokra art forms have been revived, enabling artisans to access new markets and preserve cultural heritage. In Chhattisgarh's Korba, women trained through livelihood programs have showcased their work at prestigious exhibitions, turning local skills into thriving enterprises. Mega health camps across Odisha and Chhattisgarh have strengthened local healthcare systems, delivering preventive care and awareness to thousands, significantly reducing disease burden in underserved communities. In Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, digital learning and labs have been set up in schools, equipping youth with skills for today’s world. Together, these initiatives collectively drive holistic development across the operational regions.

Through these sustained efforts, Vedanta Aluminium continues to deepen its engagement with communities. What began as individual acts of service has evolved into a year-round movement of shared responsibility, driving meaningful change in health, education, livelihoods, environment, and women’s empowerment.
