Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ elevates the experience with aluminium components

EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

The age-old bike manufacturing company "Yamaha" builds its motorcycles out of aluminium for its corrosion resistance, even when exposed to saltwater. In 2024, Yamaha's Tracer 9 GT will enhance things by incorporating radar technology along with a number of modifications on the new Tracer 9 GT+ model, which will sell for $27,599 ride-away in the Icon Performance colour scheme.

The sports tourer offers a new ACC and radar-assisted Unified Brake System. Additionally, the system recognizes the use of indicators to check overtaking motion and speeds up or down accordingly. After a gear-dependent minimum speed of 30/40/50 km/h, the ACC can be changed in 1 or 10 km segments which are at variance from the traditional system.

In light of the environmental challenges, Yamaha Motor Company has partnered with an aluminium supplier to obtain eco-friendly aluminium for the die-cast frame and the aluminium swingarm.

The UBS uses the new radar system regulating braking forces at both ends. With the advent of this radar system which weighs only 200gm and is placed between the two lower headlights, collision-free motion is possible.

Another advancement in technology is the installation of a new, larger seven-inch colour TFT, standard Smartphone communication provided by MyRide app over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB with an attachment. A headset can also be connected to the system. GPS elimination is possible if a subscription to Garmin Motorise software is taken, which provides the biker with a full-screen navigation window.

The third-generation quick-shifter, which may be utilized even with the ACC turned on, is another improvement.

Future of Aluminium in Transportation Sector

For reasonable measures, the KYB electronically controlled KADS semi-active suspension system is fully integrated into the forks and shock, connected to the IMU, and offers a Sport and Comfort mode.

The seat has been improved, using a "leather-style" cover for a more upscale design and new padding for increased comfort. A new rear calliper, brake pedal, and brake disc have been installed, increasing the size of the rear brake disc to 267 mm.
