
According to the recent data found by the International Aluminium Institute, the world primary aluminium production grew 3.80 per cent month-on-month in October 2021, putting an end to the two consecutive monthly declines. As per the data, the production stood at 5.689 million tonnes in the said month, which also reflected a year-on-year growth of 1.28 per cent from 5.617 million tonnes. In September 2021, the output was at 5.481 million tonnes, a decrease of 3.62 per cent from 5.687 million tonnes in August.

The world daily average aluminium output in October 2021 stood at 183,500 tonnes, up by 0.44 per cent from 182,700 tonnes in September 2021 and 1.27 per cent more than 181,200 tonnes in October 2020.
China, the world’s largest primary aluminium production, churned out 3.270 million tonnes in October. That was an increase of 3.78 per cent from 3.151 million tonnes in September 2021 and 0.62 per cent higher than 3.250 million tonnes in October 2020.
The Gulf countries produced 514,000 tonnes of primary aluminium in October 2021, compared to 492,000 tonnes a month ago. That flaunted a month-on-month rise of 22,000 tonnes or 4.47 per cent. On a year-on-year basis, primary aluminium production in the Gulf countries grew 4.05 per cent from 494,000 tonnes.
In Asia (ex-China), primary aluminium production in October 2021 stood at 387,000 tonnes, up by 4.03 per cent from 372,000 tonnes in September 2021 and 10.57 per cent higher than 350,000 tonnes in October 2020.
