EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Eternia, a leading brand in India renowned for its WiWA-certified aluminium doors and windows crafted from Duranium—a patented aluminium alloy by Hindalco—has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC). This collaboration will establish India’s inaugural Fenestration Centre of Excellence in Pune, known as Eternia Academy. This initiative is a pivotal move to tackle the pressing shortage of skilled professionals in the dynamically growing fenestration sector.

Chandan Agarwal, CEO of Eternia, commented, "There is a growing demand for quality fenestration products and services in India. As pioneers in the industry, we at Eternia recognize our responsibility to nurture talent and drive innovation. By partnering with FFSC, we are addressing the skill gap head-on and laying the foundation for a robust fenestration ecosystem in India through Eternia Academy. We are proud to be the first brand in the segment to initiate such a program, and we look forward to training more professionals who will meet the industry's evolving demands".

The fenestration industry, encompassing the design, manufacturing, and installation of doors, windows, and facades, is witnessing a surge in demand for skilled professionals. Despite this growing need, there remains a significant gap between industry requirements and the available talent pool. Addressing this challenge, Eternia has stepped up by launching an educational platform that provides training in the latest techniques and technologies critical to the industry.

The inaugural cohort of Eternia Academy, consisting of 13 students, is set to graduate in August 2024. These graduates have completed intensive training in window manufacturing and installation, preparing them to lead as the next generation of skilled professionals in the fenestration industry.

The Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) is a not-for-profit entity established by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with funding from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. FFSC is committed to developing a strong skills ecosystem nationwide by providing academic, vocational, and experiential learning opportunities to formalize the current workforce and cultivate new talent.
