With the addition of AL Geometry to its ISO Turning portfolio, WIDIA expanded its range of reasonably priced tooling solutions for small to medium-sized machine shops that work with non-ferrous materials and aluminium. The AL Geometry insert offers additional advantages in addition to increased product variety due to the availability of numerous grade and style options.
Shorter set-up times are achieved by reducing manual chip collection after each cut, thanks to an improved chip flow caused by a highly polished rake face. In addition to improving overall tooling precision and reducing cutting pressures, the peripheral ground insert also has a sharper cutting edge. Because of the decreased built-up edge caused by reliable tooling performances, customers may spend more time machining and less time doing post-machining deburring operations.
As a result of its versatility, the AL Geometry insert is available in two grades: the WU05PT PVD AlTiN coated grade and the WU10HT uncoated microfine carbide grade. In order to provide customers with more tooling choices, each grade is offered in all widely used styles, including C, D, R, T, and V inserts.
“The AL Geometry portfolio offers tooling versatility when machining different components and workpieces, while also providing more precise and reliable machining performance. By focusing on both tooling performance and value, we’re helping our customers maximize their return on our products,” said Anil Kumar, WIDIA Global Turning Portfolio Manager.
The AL Geometry is the all-purpose solution for clients seeking reduced cutting forces, increased tool productivity, and prolonged tool life for machining a range of non-ferrous workpiece materials, notably aluminium. It is versatile, dependable, and cost-effective.
