Vytas and Accelerate Resources consort for the JORC Tambellup kaolin project focusing on HPA production

EDITED BY : 3MINS READ

The JORC resource is being considered by the two companies, Vytas Resources and its 33% partner Accelerate Resources for their joint venture, the Tambellup kaolin project in southwestern parts of Western Australia, keeping in mind that during this quarter, Vytas is planning an entry in ASX IPO.

In November 2021, Accelerate swapped its Tambellup Project for a 33% interest in Vytas’ critical minerals and technology business. The section mainly focuses on producing high-purity alumina for hydrogen production, solar panels and the battery storage supply chain.

The same year, Accelerate and Vytas was supposed to focus on developing a new technology material company mainly relying on the Tambellup project and Vytas’ existing silica assets. Altogether they were going to produce high-purity alumina or ‘HPA’, high-purity quartz or HPQ and high-purity silica for metal coating industries and other industrial supply chains.

The proposal included a deal of $250,000 payment to Vytas in cash for running the project smoothly.

The project resides 120km north of Albany and 280km south-southeast of Perth, aligned on the Great Southern Highway.

Usually, kaolin deposits are found as 17m thick sub-horizontal layers defined by the in-situ weathering of granite rocks featuring quartz or feldspar minerals.

In 2020, Accelerate organised the digging of fifty-two vertical air core drill holes surrounding a total area of 763m to confirm historical drillings and to evaluate existing potential mines and their mineralisation content.

An independent consultant, CSA Global has included in its Tambellup JORC report an illustration of 12.5 million tonnes of kaolinised granite with 6.7 tonnes of kaolin at less than 45 microns with an aluminium oxide content of 36 per cent and ISO brightness exceeding 80.

The JV claims that this latest technology material venture might propagate them to lead the renewable technology industry.

Vytas has more than 30 years of experience in R&D, mineral and product development with special reference to kaolinite mineralisation and the consecutive production of HPA which will help Accelerate to properly utilise the Tambellup kaolin arena.

Considering a report by Allied Market research in 2021, it was revealed that the worldwide HPA market was estimated at US$1.3 billion in 2019 and is destined to reach US$4.8 billion by 2026, increasing production at a compound annual rate of 20.7% from 2020 to 2026.

Accelerate is hopeful about its venture with Vytas since it will introduce investors to the global HPQ market and also open new avenues for renewable energy sectors.

Now that Vytas and Accelerate have focused on the Tambellup unit it would expand its foray into East Pilbara manganese projects, specifically the Woodie Woodie North region.

This physically expands the merger created by the two companies, Vytas and Accelerate with a combined area of 240 square kilometres. The company also deems this area to be manganese heaven, after calculating, the ground which contains infinite structures with outcrops of mineralization ranging over 32km. The reserve is close to the road and the output is transferable via train or ship.

According to Accelerate, exploration must be carried out by strikes or by diving deeper into countless drilled prospects. It also exerts stress on those untested targets across the region.

OUTLOOK 2022

Coincidentally, the Tambellup ground is just 70km north of the high-grade Woodie Woodie manganese mine. Their operations are orchestrated by Consolidated Minerals Australia hailing from Perth. They are capable of extracting an enormous 1.6 million tonnes of high-grade magnesium ore each year.

Accelerate is on a journey to find a Woodie Woodie of its own and claims that its highly potent sector satisfies various targets under the world-class mineral system.
