
Vedanta Limited has increased its aluminium products prices for the third time in a row since last Wednesday, August 11. With effect from August 18, the company’s aluminium wire rod price has come in at INR 235,000-242,500 per tonne, up by INR 2,500 per tonne from INR 232,500-240,000 per tonne on August 13 and by INR 4,000 per tonne from INR 231,000-238,500 per tonne on August 11.

Vedanta is selling its aluminium billets price at INR 235,500 per tonne with effect from August 18 compared to INR 233,000 per tonne on August 13 and INR 231,500 per tonne on August 11.
Vedanta’s aluminium ingot price has also seen a rise of INR 2,500 per tonne and is currently ranging between INR 227,500-240,500 per tonne as of August 18. On August 13, the price was at INR 225,000-238,000 per tonne.
Vedanta limited links its aluminium ingot and aluminium product prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which during August 13-17 built-up US$ 30.50 per tonne to reach at US$ 2,633 per tonne as of August 17. On a month-on-month calculation, the price is up by around US$ 140 per tonne from 2,493 per tonne, and on a year-on-year basis by US$ 913.50 per tonne from US$ 1,719.50 per tonne.
Vedanta’s aluminium business typically accounts for one-third of the company’s consolidated sales. Vedanta has a stake in Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd and smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha. It commands a 40% share in India's primary aluminium market.
