
Vedanta Limited decreased its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices for the second time in a row with effect from Wednesday, February 3. The company is currently selling its aluminium ingot at INR 165,500-178,500 per tonne, down by INR 1,750 per tonne or 1.05 per cent from INR 167,250-180,250 per tonne on last Friday, January 29.

Vedanta’s aluminium wire rod price has come in at INR 173,000-180,500 per tonne after being cut by INR 1,750 per tonne as well. On Friday, January 29, Vedanta’s aluminium wire rod price stood at INR 174,750-182,250 per tonne, down by INR 2,250 per tonne from INR 177,000-184,500 per tonne on January 26.
Vedanta’s aluminium billets price is hovering around INR 173,500 per tonne versus INR 175,250 per tonne last Friday.
Vedanta Limited links the prices of its aluminium products and aluminium ingot to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which after January 29 fell to US$ 1958 per tonne, as of February 2.
Vedanta’s aluminium businss typically accounts for one-third of the company’s consolidated sales. Vedanta has a stake in Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd and smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha. It commands a 40% share in India's primary aluminium market.
