Vedanta Aluminium, India's largest aluminium producer, has won an award as the highest exporter of containerised cargo in Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) for 2022-23. The recognition is received from Haldia Dock Complex by the Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Port, formerly known as Kolkata Port Trust.
Minister of State for the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Santanu Thakur, presented the award to Vedanta Aluminium during a trade felicitation programme at Kolkata.
Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda bagged this award for shipping more than 1.4 lakh tonnes of containerised cargo through 6100 TEUs to more than 30 countries and 50 ports worldwide during the financial year 2023. This reflects Vedanta's commitment to boosting India's export capabilities and exemplifies the company as 'India's manufacturing prowess on the global stage'.

In FY2023, the company manufactured 2.29 million tonnes of aluminium, more than half of India's aluminium production.
