US aluminium scrap exports to Thailand surge by 51.37% in Q4’21 after two back-to-back quarterly plunge

In December 2021, US exported 8,980 tonnes of aluminium scrap to Thailand. On a month-on-month forefront a drop of 630 tonnes or 6.55% was recorded.  In November 2021, 9,610 tonnes of aluminium scrap was exported to Thailand from the United States, heightened by 5,130 tonnes from 4,480 tonnes in October 2021.

The total amount of US aluminium scrap exported to Thailand in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2021 scored at 23,070 tonnes, showing a Q-o-Q growth of 7,830 tonnes or 51.37% from 15,240 tonnes in Q3 2021. In the third quarter (Q3) of 2021, Thailand imported a total of 15,240 tonnes of aluminium scrap from the United States.

Thailand imported a total of 15,240 tonnes of aluminium scrap from the United States in the third quarter (Q3) of 2021, a drop of 1,020 tonnes or 6.27% from 16,260 tonnes in Q2. The United States shipped 16,260 tonnes of aluminium scrap to Thailand in Q2.

Thailand, imported 16,260 tonnes of aluminium scrap from the United States between April to June (Q2). Quarterly, a plunge of 3,730 tonnes or 18.65% was recorded from 19,990 tonnes in Q1 2021. The United States shipped 19,990 tonnes of aluminium scrap to Thailand in the first quarter of 2021.

From January to December 2021, the amount of aluminium scrap exported over the United States to Thailand closed at 74,600 tonnes, up 600 tonnes from the previous year’s figure of 74,000 tonnes. Thailand purchased 74,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap from the United States between January to December 2020.
