US aluminium plates, sheets and bars imports from Japan in February’22 surge by 445.07% M-o-M
The amount of aluminium plates, sheets and bars imported from Japan by the United States in February 2022 soared up by 3,209 tonnes or 445.07 per cent M-o-M, from 721 tonnes in January 2022. The amount for February 2022 settled at 3,930 tonnes. However, in January, an M-o-M downfall of 4,349 tonnes was recorded from 5,070 tonnes in December 2021.
In February 2021, the number of aluminium plates, sheets and bars imported from Japan by the United States settled at 2,040 tonnes, which on a Y-o-Y comparison heightened by 1,890 tonnes or 92.64 per cent in February 2022. The total amount of aluminium plates, sheets and bars imported from Japan by the United States in 2021 closed at 46,800 tonnes.

Based on the USGS statistics, in February 2022, the US imported a total amount of 107,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars in February 2022, which on an M-o-M scale nosedived by 5,000 tonnes from 112,000 tonnes in January 2022. Further, in January 2022, the amount had augmented by 3,000 tonnes from 109,000 tonnes in December 2021.
