
The United States aluminium crude metals and alloys imports from the United Arab Emirates in the first half of 2023 amounted to 308,000 tonnes, registering a jump of 60.42 per cent from 192,000 tonnes during the corresponding period of the previous year.

As the above graph indicates, the United States aluminium crude metals and alloys imports from the UAE started growing from March 2023 after a dip in the prior month and continued expanding until June 2023. According to the USGS data, the United States imported 30,400 tonnes of the product in March’23, up 19.22 per cent from 25,500 tonnes in February. The import volume in February was down month-on-month by 29.95 per cent from 36,400 tonnes, but that in January was 15.20 per cent higher than the previous month.
In April, the United States imports from the UAE took a leap of 130 per cent M-o-M to reach 69,800 tonnes, which further increased by 19,300 tonnes or 27.65 per cent to 89,100 tonnes in May 2023. However, in June, the import volume declined by 36.36 per cent to 56,700 tonnes.
The United States total aluminium crude metals and alloys imports in H1 2023 were recorded at 1.99 million tonnes, which, however, was down by 7 per cent Y-o-Y from 2.14 million tonnes, found USGS survey.
In June 2023, the United States imported 345,000 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys compared to 407,000 tonnes a month ago. That reflected a fall of 62,000 tonnes or 15.23 per cent M-o-M. However, the import volume in May rose 8.53 per cent from 375,000 tonnes.
On a year-on-year calculation, the United States aluminium crude metals and alloys imports in June 2023 edged a fall of 25 per cent from 460,000 tonnes.
