US aluminium crude metals and alloys imports from Canada witness an increase of 3.39% Y-o-Y in July 2021

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the United States imported 213,000 tonnes of crude metals and alloys from Canada in July 2021, reflecting a month-on-month decrease of 4,000 tonnes or 1.84 percent. In June 2021, 217,000 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys were exported from Canada, a growth of 8.5 percent from 200,000 tonnes in May 2021.

On a year-on-year calculation, US aluminium crude metals and alloys imported from Canada in July 2021 increased by 7,000 tonnes or by 3.39 percent from 206,000 tonnes.

From January to July 2021, the imported aluminium crude metals and alloys by the United States plunged by 3,0000 tonnes or by 2.04 percent on a year-on-year calculation to settled at 1,440,000 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount exported by Canada was found to be 1,470,000 tonnes.

As per the data shared by the United States Geological Survey, the total amount of aluminium crude metals and alloys, aluminium plates, sheets, bars and scrap imported by the United States from Canada for the month of July 2021 was recorded at 264,000 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount was 255,000 tonnes, an increase of 263,9000 tonnes in 2021.
