Taber Extrusions, a cornerstone of Arkansas manufacturing landscape has announced the groundbreaking ceremony for its major facility expansion in Russellville. The upcoming aluminium extrusion facility will feature the largest direct extrusion press in North America.
The expansion was first announced in July 2024 at the USA Partnership Pavilion during the Farnborough Air Show, with Governor Sanders, Taber executives, and state officials in attendance. The company has consistently expanded its Russellville operations—adding fabrication capabilities in 2014, cutting-edge friction stir welding technology in 2019, and a Haas VF-12 CNC machining line in 2021.
As part of this project, the company is investing $70 million into its Russellville operations, a move expected to generate 70 new jobs. The Russellville site will see the construction of a 125,000-square-foot facility to expand manufacturing and fabrication capabilities.
The state-of-the-art 10,000 UST Front Load Direct Press, equipped with advanced technology and a 16-inch (406mm) container, can produce profiles up to 600mm wide. Engineered to meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry, the press is expected to become operational in 2026.
“We are excited to finally be breaking ground on this long-awaited project. We are happy to be growing here in Russellville, a location that provides so many of the key elements for our future success, including local talent, available educational resources, a business-friendly climate, and a supportive state, county, and local community that wants us here and wants us to succeed,” said Chuck Stout, President of Taber Extrusions.
“This investment is the result of proactive efforts across the board: pro-growth policies from my administration, a business-driven mindset in Russellville, and our active presence at events like the Farnborough Airshow,” said Governor Sanders. “I’m truly grateful to this incredible Arkansas company for their continued commitment to the Natural State.”
"For fifty years, Taber Extrusions has been a vital part of Russellville,” said Russellville Mayor Fred Teague. “This expansion, bringing the largest direct extrusion press in North America right here to our city, is a great example of our community's strength and the partnership we share. The investment of over $70 million and the creation 70 new jobs is not just an economic win, it's a victory for our families and our future. We're proud to support Taber's continued success, and we're excited to see the global impact of the products made right here in Russellville."
