
Montenegro-based aluminium company Uniprom has inaugurated its aluminium billets manufacturing unit at aluminium smelter KAP's factory in Podgorica, SeeNews reported. The 15 million euro ($17.9 million) unit will have a manufacturing capacity of 70,000 tonnes of aluminium billets.

"We know that a new silumin factory was recently opened within KAP, which already produces special alloys valued at around $75 million per year. I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the owner of Uniprom, Veselin Pejovic, for the brave business moves, for the investments of over 25 million euro in production capacities, and above all for the new jobs at KAP," prime minister Dusko Markovic said at the official opening of the unit.
The unit has a workforce of 80 employees, the Montenegrin government said in a statement on Tuesday, August 18 2020.
