Aluminium flakes is an ingredient that comes from aluminium powder through the dry ball milling process. However, its shape remains irregular under microscopic examination. Aluminium powders, pastes, and flakes are broadly used in industrial, automotive, chemical, construction, explosives, defence, aerospace, and other sectors. Metal powder is also generally used in the pigments and coatings industries.
{alcircleadd}The eastern European nation, Ukraine, is also the second-largest country in Europe after Russia has imported 2713 tonnes of aluminium powder and flakes during 2018-20. The expenditure accounted for the import was $13.73 million.
Ukraine imported 663 tonnes of aluminium powder and flakes in 2018. The expenditure towards the import remained at $3.38 million, whereas, in 2019, the import reflected growth by 65.61%, as the import volume escalated to 1098 tonnes and the expenditure inflated to $6.03 million.
The importation of aluminium powder and flakes by Ukraine in 2020 has been recorded at 952 tonnes, contracted by 13.29% and the expenditure plunged to $4.32 million.
In 2021, Ukraine’s import of aluminium powder and flakes is predicted with a further dip by 7.24%, as the import volume is expected to fall at 883 tonnes and the expenditure to stand at $3.65 million.
The major trading destinations for Ukraine’s import of aluminium powder and flakes are China, Germany, Poland, Russia, etc.
