Ukraine’s bauxite imports up by 6.2% in ten months

Ukraine imported 4.03 million tonnes of aluminium ores and concentrate (bauxite) in the first ten months of 2020. That was an increase of 6.2% year-on-year, according to statistics released by the State Customs Service.
Bauxite imports in monetary terms rose to $190.937 million January-October, a growth of 5%. Guinea, Brazil and Ghana were the leading exporters of bauxite in the first ten months of 2020. Guinea exported 62.49% of total supplies in monetary terms, followed by Brazil 14.69% and Ghana 14.30%.
Ukraine re-exported 184 tonnes of bauxite to Poland for $29,000 in January-October 2020, from 22 tonnes for $1,000 in the same period in 2019.
