Ukraine’s bauxite imports rise by 12.3% in January-May 2021

Ukraine imported 2.185 million tonnes of aluminium ores and concentrate (bauxite) in the first five months of 2021. That marked an increase of 12.3% compared to the same period last year, according to statistics released by the State Customs Service.

Bauxite imports in monetary terms rose to $99.393 million January-May, a hike of 16.8%. Guinea, Brazil and Ghana were the leading exporters of bauxite in the first five months of 2021. Guinea exported 60.15% of total supplies in monetary terms, followed by Brazil 22.26% and Ghana 16.31%.
Ukraine re-exported 94 tonnes of bauxite to Poland for $19,000 in January-May 2021. Ukraine re-exported to Poland (84.21%) and Germany (15.79%).
