Tournaire, a French aluminium packaging solution provider, has unveiled its new Omni Plus aluminium bottle range. The launch sets a new benchmark for sustainable packaging as it combines strength with sustainability. Each bottle features a mono-bloc aluminium construction, extruded from a single piece of metal. Tournaire says the design eliminates weak points found in material joints. It also provides better protection against leaks, cracks and contamination.

The Omni Plus bottles are 7 per cent lighter than conventional versions, thanks to a precision deep-drawing process that micro-adjusts wall thickness to achieve what the company calls the perfect balance between strength and weight. The closure system also supports easy dismantling after use, allowing the collar, cap and body to enter separate recycling streams efficiently. Each bottle’s body is made from pure aluminium, meaning it can be recycled infinitely without loss of quality.
Circularity meets consumer demand
Tournaire’s innovation comes as the aluminium packaging sector continues to grow. In 2023, over 11.5 million tonnes of aluminium flat-rolled products were used for packaging. This rise was driven by the global move away from plastic and glass. Aluminium’s recyclability and durability make it a top choice for eco-conscious brands and consumers.

As Tournaire said at the launch, “By rethinking how materials are formed and reused, we’re helping industries transition toward a truly circular packaging model.” This reflects the company’s focus on technical performance and environmental responsibility, in line with Europe’s goal of resource efficiency and carbon reduction.

Eco-conscious brands follow suit
The Omni Plus range introduction follows other recent developments in the aluminium packaging space. L’Occitane en Provence has also rolled out refill stations with reusable aluminium bottles, enabling customers to refill their bottles with liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel and oil products. In the meantime, Dozz launched ready-to-eat soups in aluminium cans designed for direct consumption and easy recycling.

These developments illustrate the expanding interest in aluminium among categories, including beauty and food and beverage, as brands answer consumer demand for transparency, circularity, and waste reduction.
The Omni Plus range marks a shift in packaging - from single use to lasting material cycles where design and sustainability work together. With innovations like these, the move toward a low-carbon, zero-waste future in packaging is already taking shape.
