Three-month LME aluminium ended lower at US$1,754.5/t; SHFE aluminium dropped 1.68%

Three-month LME aluminium trended lower on Wednesday, September 23. It closed 1.38% weaker at US$1,754.5 per tonne.

As of Wednesday September 23, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 1718.50per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 1718.50per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 1759 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 1759 per tonne; Dec 21 bid price stands at US$ 1835 per tonne, and Dec 21 offer price stands at US$ 1835 per tonne.

The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1486175 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1230750 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 255425 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 1770.94per tonne.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased to stand at US$ 2046 per tonne on Thursday, 24 September 2020.

The most-liquid SHFE 2010 aluminium contract closed down 1.68% weaker at RMB14,345 per tonne on Wednesday. Open interest fell 5,120 lots to 104,000 lots.

The most-active SHFE 2011 aluminium contract fell below RMB14,000 per tonne after the bell to a session low of 13,775 per tonne before reversing some losses to close 2.91% lower at RMB13,865 per tonne in overnight trading. The November contract is likely to move between 13,700-14,050 per tonne today.
