Three-month LME aluminium ended 0.75% lower at US$1,782/t; SHFE aluminium advanced 0.58%

Three-month LME aluminium came off an intraday high of US$1,804 per tonne to end 0.75% lower at US$1,782 per tonne on Monday.

As of Monday September 21, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 1752.50 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 1752.50per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 1793 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 1793 per tonne; Dec 21 bid price stands at US$ 1869 per tonne, and Dec 21 offer price stands at US$ 1869 per tonne.

The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1499100 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1235750 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 263350 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 1799.66per tonne.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased to stand at US$ 2152 per tonne on Tuesday, 22 September 2020.

The most-liquid SHFE 2010 aluminium contract closed up 0.58% at RMB14,665 per tonne on Monday Open interest fell 1,266 lots to 12,000 lots.

The contract followed its LME counterpart lower in overnight trading, sliding 0.55% to settle at RMB14,575 per tonne. The October contract is expected to move between 14,450-14,800 per tonne today.
