
Taiwan’s imports of aluminium scrap from the US stood at 2,640 tonnes in April 2021, with a year-on-year decrease of 13.73%. Taiwan had imported 3,060 tonnes in April 2020. On a month-on-month basis, imports increased by 9.54% from 2,410 tonnes in March 2021, as updated by the US Census Bureau.

In January-April, Taiwan imported 10,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap, from 13,000 tonnes imported in the January-April 2020. This marked a drop of 23% year-on-year.
Taiwan’s imports of total aluminium (semi-finished products, crude metals and alloy and scrap) from the US stood at 3,270 tonnes and 13,000 tonnes in April 2021 and January-April 2021. That was down from 3,900 tonnes and 15,900 tonnes in April and January-April 2020.
On a monthly basis, aluminium scrap imports from the US climbed by 14.74% from March 2021’s import of 2,850 tonnes.
