Swedish mobility brand Cake has unveiled Cake Åik, a utility bike that can be termed an SUV on two wheels. With the emergence of the Paris Pact in 2015, all the micro-mobility units are facing immense backlash forcing the companies to cut down the possible carbon emissions.
The Cake Åik is figuratively an e-bike formed utilising the brand’s flagship and successful range of commuter machines. The bike has a unique aluminium framework which is strong enough to carry a weight of 441lb. Since the model is electricity-induced, aluminium use makes the construction lighter for the vehicle, increasing agility.
Most importantly, Cake Åik holds a range of 200 plus miles. The motor of the e-bike is connected to three 750Wh batteries, among which one cell is stuck behind the saddle to reach almost 74.5 miles of range, and the remaining two battery packs are screwed to either side of the rear cargo bed. Cake has confirmed that these battery power cases can also be used as mobile power banks.
Cake targets small-town businesses, families and delivery farms needing load-bearing devices that do not have to be charged regularly. The incredible battery life, robust construction and patented Cake workability make this Åik model the epitome of modern e-bikes.
The new machine will be inaugurated at the Company’s territory in 2023, alongside the other models like the Kalk off-roader, the Ösa utility bike and our favourite commuter special, the Makka.
