Sustainability weekly: The COP28 is at play, the biggest summit for sustainable development is here

EDITED BY : 5MINS READ

The 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) is an event that brings together experts, activists, and stakeholders worldwide to address climate change issues. The discussions will include sustainable practices, reducing emissions, and the role of industries in achieving climate goals. It's an excellent opportunity to learn about innovative solutions and be a part of this critical platform that will help pave the way for a greener tomorrow for the aluminium industry. Japanese industrial giant Hitachi has pledged to produce all of its products in Japan using "green aluminium" made through less carbon-intensive processes than conventional methods. The company aims to achieve this goal by March 2024 and reduce its carbon footprint in order to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across its entire supply chain by 2050. Hydro's President and CEO, Hilde Merete Aasheim, has announced that the company is becoming a member of the First Movers Coalition. This move highlights Hydro's commitment to take responsibility and lead the way in achieving global climate targets.
