Sunlite Recycling Industries posted a strong start to FY27, with its aluminium business emerging as one of the key growth drivers during the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company reported consolidated revenue of INR 7.84 billion (USD 90.1 million), up 74.62 per cent year on year, supported by robust demand across its aluminium and copper recycling businesses.

The quarter also marked the first full reporting period following the integration of Sunlite Aluminium Private Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary, strengthening the company's position as an integrated producer of copper and aluminium products.

The business update was submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited on August 3, 2026, in compliance with Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The disclosure was signed by Managing Director Nitin Kumar Heda.

Aluminium business records triple-digit revenue growth

Revenue from Sunlite's aluminium operations more than doubled to INR 528.6 million (USD 6.1 million) in Q1FY27 from INR 261.3 million (USD 3.0 million) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering a 102.25 per cent increase.

Sales volume also rose sharply by 52.24 per cent to 1,387.15 MT from 911.14 MT, reflecting growing demand for aluminium products used in the power transmission and electrical equipment sectors.

The company said the addition of Sunlite Aluminium has expanded its integrated manufacturing capabilities and contributed to the quarter's overall growth.

Copper also drives performance, expansion plans underway

Sunlite's copper recycling business remained the largest contributor to revenue, with revenue from operations increasing 72.91 per cent year on year to INR 7.31 billion (USD 84.0 million) from INR 4.23 billion (USD 48.6 million). Sales volume in the segment grew 15.43 per cent to 5,743.04 MT from 4,975.30 MT, supported by sustainable margins and higher demand.

To support future growth, the company has approved a capital expenditure programme worth INR 370 million (USD 4.3 million), funded through bank borrowings and internal accruals. The investment will expand Copper Wire Rod capacity to 45,000 MTPA and Value-added Products capacity to 3,540 MTPA, with completion targeted in Q1FY28.
