Spanish manufacturer of steel and aluminium parts, Ecrimesa Group, headquartered in Santander has expanded its facilities to a total area of about 20,000 m2.
The facility consists of a technical office and a moulding workshop. The adjoining machining plant has areas for investment casting, Metal Injection Moulding (MIM), Additive Manufacturing, a metallurgical laboratory and metrology department.
Ecrimesa Group facilities house the latest machinery and they boast having qualified staff to develop projects concerning fabrication of steel and aluminium parts by investment casting and Metal Injection Moulding (MIM), the latter being their unique innovation.
MIM is largely used in medical industry and due to its accuracy in forging metal; it can be used for making complex shapes required in medical directory where the size of particulars is below 150gms.
With this method, very specific and detailed production can be made which is quite impossible while machining a material in its primary form. Both external threads and complex internal shapes can be formed with this which is a boon for the industry.
For the last twenty years, Ecrimesa has increased its production by 25% both in the fields of physical and human resources which has made them reach a turnover increase of over 40%.
Along with expanding their facilities, Ecrimesa has achieved success in areas such as robotisation, continuous lines and Additive Manufacturing.
Ecrimesa is now aiming at exceeding the €45 million turnover in 2022 with its Santander Plant feature, which is €3 million more than the year before.
