South China Aluminum: Spot Price Hits RMB 19,000/mt, Transactions Rarely Reported

As SHFE aluminum prices kept rising in the morning, spot aluminum prices in south China surged, with mainstream traded prices ranging from RMB 18,950-19,000/mt, up RMB 420/mt over previous trading day. After traded prices hit RMB 19,000/mt, buying interest deteriorated among downstream buyers, and only few purchases at lower prices were reported among downstream enterprises. Market transactions were extremely sluggish.
