South Africa’s M-o-M exports of aluminium plates, sheets and bars to US downgrade by 37.02% in Feb’22
According to the latest USGS statistics, in February 2022, the United States imported 4,270 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars from South Africa, which went on to nosedive by 2,510 tonnes or 37.02 percent from 6,780 tonnes in January 2022. However in January, there was a hike of 3050 tonnes or 81.76 percent from 3,730 tonnes in December 2021.
On a Y-o-Y calculation, the US aluminium flat rolled products imports from South Africa in February 2022 jumped higher by 3,616 tonnes from 654 tonnes in February 2021. In 2021, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets and bars imported from South Africa settled at 42,000 tonnes.
In February 2022, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets and bars imported by the United States halted at 107,000 tonnes, which went on to decline majorly by 5,000 tonnes or 4.46 percent from 112,000 tonnes in January 2022. On the other hand in January 2022, a major growth of 3,000 tonnes was recorded from 109,000 tonnes in December 2021.
