SMM A00 aluminium ingot price levitates by RM1390/t M-o-M; China’s alumina price expands to RMB3308/t

The Shanghai Metals Market on April 22 has shown a decent spike in aluminium prices, with the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price halting at RMB 20,690 per tonne after an increase of RMB 350 per tonne. On a Month-on-Month scale there can be seen a massive augmentation of RMB 1,390 per tonne or 7.2 per cent from RMB 19,300 per tonne recorded in March 22.

The eight main provinces in China have all seen escalating aluminium prices today. The highest ascend of RMB 370 per tonne was witnessed in Linyi, where the aluminium price got stuck at RMB 20,740 per tonne. In Shenyang and Linyi, the aluminium prices soared by RMB 350 per tonne to close at RMB 20,610 per tonne and RMB 20,670 per tonne, respectively. Similarly, in Gongyi and Foshan, the aluminium prices expanded by RMB 340 per tonne to officiate at RMB 20,630 per tonne and RMB 20,650 per tonne. Also, in Wuxi and Hangzhou, the aluminium prices have levitated by RMB 330 per tonne to close at RMB 20,670 per tonne each. Lastly, in Chongqing, the aluminium price has rested at RMB 20,640 per tonne, with a rise of RMB 320 per tonne.

China’s low carbon aluminium price has levitated by RMB 359 per tonne to officially close at RMB 21,632 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and the high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have both risen by RMB 300 per tonne to settle at RMB 28,000 per tonne and 29,000 per tonne.

China’s average alumina spot price has gained by RMB 3 per tonne to stop at RMB 3,308 per tonne, while the alumina price in Shandong and Shanxi have both grown by RMB 5 per tonne to close at RMB 3,270 per tonne and RMB 3,275 per tonne. The alumina price in Bayuquan has escalated by RMB 20 per tonne to park at RMB 3,310 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price has added US$1 per tonne to anchor at US$379 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has skyrocketed by RMB 350 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,250 per tonne, and the price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) has secured RMB 150 per tonne to close at RMB 20,800 per tonne.

The price of aluminium powder has travelled RMB 0.30 per kg upward to close at RMB 23.10 per kg, with the average prices ranging between RMB 23 per kg and RMB 23.20 per kg.
